Kaia Kater, the Montreal-born musician with Grenadian roots, has already garnered acclaim for her jazz-fuelled voice and deft song crafting at NPR's Tiny Desk, The Guardian and Rolling Stone, among others. Her artful banjo playing and lush song writing reflect the diversity of her background: her family's deep ties to Canadian folk music; her college years soaking up Appalachian music in West Virginia and the experience of her father growing up in Grenada and arriving in Canada in 1986 after the US invasion.
Toronto indie-folk duo Basset bring a deep love of the natural world to their beautifully meditative and critically acclaimed debut album In The Clay (September 2022). Produced by Joshua Van Tassel (Sarah Slean, David Myles), the ten songs on In The Clay explore various themes of life in change, Shelton and Clark's travels through Northern Ontario, the Canadian and American prairies, their life in Toronto and the many characters who have crossed their path.
