Powerful futuristic fusion of spoken word, rap, and free jazz by Moor Mother.
Camae Ayewa, known as Moor Mother, is a dynamic artist, poet, activist and musician, for whom collaborations run in her blood. She is part of the free jazz collective Irreversible Entanglements, collaborates with figures such as Lonnie Holley, and is a member of Black Quantum Futurism.
Ayewa explores futurism, media and activism within marginalised communities, deploying a wide range of expressions such as spoken word, rap and poetry, supported by musical and electronic improvisations. Her performances are powerful manifestations of social themes and political injustice.
At DE SINGEL, Ayewa enters into dialogue with the public and will undoubtedly surprise us with new collaborations and reflections on her previous work.
