After a legendary 2025 edition at Botanique, SOBU is back at Ancienne Belgique, continuing its new rhythm of alternating between both venues to keep each edition of the - now yearly - festival exciting and unexpected.
For this round, Different Class and AB bring two fresh and sharp-eyed curators on board to spotlight the most emerging sounds from the Belgian underground.
Get to know Maya, alias Vieze Meisje, and Sidney, aka NMSS, the curators of Sound of the Belgian Underground 2026.
Maya is a musician and performer who thrives on blurring the boundaries between stage and audience. Through her alter ego Vieze Meisje, she explores the raw, cyclical, and often messy beauty of life - the so-called vieze cirkel - inviting her audience to become part of it. Her performances are unpredictable, combining music and poetry with a sharp sense of humour.
Sidney, known as NMSS, is a DJ and producer celebrated for euphoric, Latin club–inspired sets radiating warmth, energy, and connection. Together with collectives like Viciosa and Call of Dirty, they have been reshaping the Belgian nightlife scene, creating inclusive spaces where bodies, beats, and identities can move freely.
As curators of the 2026 edition of Sound of the Belgian Underground at AB, they bring that same spirit of openness and intensity: a celebration of underground music as a living organism that keeps evolving, embracing chaos, and dancing the loop of life.
SOBU has become a cult night out and a launchpad for future icons. Don’t miss your chance to see them before they blow up.
