Leuven Jazz: Looping Sessions ft. Troy x Koné & Anna Winkin + Slagader

From Thursday 13 to Sunday 23 March, Leuven will once again be the place to jazz!

Leuven Jazz will once again go for an XL edition in 2025 and serve up top artists from home and abroad, as well as films, living room concerts, dance and much more.

​

You will experience the festival in the concert halls, the cinema, the Provincial Domain, living rooms, the museum ... in short, the whole city!

​

TROY x Koné is a Belgian musical duo consisting of rapper-producer TROY and handpan artist Koné. Their collaboration is the product of the project Looping Sessions (our own Belgian Tiny Desk concerts), where TROY was a guest and Koné musically accompanied him as host on bass and percussion.

As of this moment, they are on stage together with a set list that ranges from hip-hop with jazz and soul influences to handpan music. What is unique about this duo is that both multi-instrumentalists perform their own songs live using a looping station. An innovative concept where each musical layer is carefully constructed with saxophone, trumpet, handpan, drums, guitar, bass, piano and more.

Belgian-Congolese singer-songwriter Anna Winkin draws inspiration from the richness of her origins to create a deep and captivating pop/soul sound. Guided by great sensitivity, her artistic journey is a reflection of her passion for inner exploration. Like an alchemist, she transforms her life experiences into music, using her creativity as a tool for emotional transmutation. Her songs, embellished with rich vocal harmonies and filled with emotion, touch hearts and invite personal transformation. Through her artistic expressions, Anna Winkin offers a musical journey that inspires and uplifts the soul.

Slagader

Get ready for Slagader, an exciting three-piece band from Leuven and Brussels that brings you a unique fusion of jazz and electronic music. With influences from drum & bass, jungle, fusion, funk and jazz, Slagader creates intense, danceable music with playful melodies and a mix of different genres.

This new trio, previously known as Bruno X Soet X Moene, consists of Roeland Celis on guitar and synth sounds, Soet Kempeneer on bass guitar, bass synth, synths and FX, and Moene Peeters on drums. Together they play their own compositions inspired by the likes of Kamaal Williams, Yussef Dayes and STUFF. They are loved by fans such as AliA and Lefto Early Bird.

Expect a dynamic mix of uplifting jazz and electronica, danceable beats, uptempo grooves and plenty of energy! Slagader have already performed at festivals such as Brussels Jazz Weekend and Doel Festival and are ready to conquer any stage with their lively performances.
