BLISS is a platform for new performance practices. The second edition of BLISS centers on the work of emerging sound artist Fallon Mayanja. In addition to premiering her own piece, To The Fullest, Mayanja takes on the role of curator for the Saturday evening program. She also inspires students from the Curatorial Studies program at KASK and the Master of Dance program at Royal Conservatory Antwerp to collaborate and create a complementary program on Friday.
This edition lies at the intersection of sound, dance, and video art. Mayanja’s work is distinguished by her in-depth exploration of Black histories, experiences, and culture—an interest she shares with invited artists such as MELANIN, Nkisi, and Borgial. Together, they explore new ways of listening, aiming to deepen and transform our understanding of ourselves and our environment.
