On 08.07.2024, American rapper, singer and songwriter Ashnikko will conquer the stage at OLT Rivierenhof. The 27-year-old Ashton Nicole Casey stands out with her iconic and colourful outfits complimenting her bright blue hair. Ashnikko's debut album Weedkiller invites you into a whole different world inspired by dystopian fiction. The singer based the album on a short story, a war where humans fight machines. It was also made into a comic book named Husk: A Tale From The Weedkiller Wastewoods. This album is marked by the raw intensity of her emotions, Ashnikko shows more of herself in Weedkiller, but her feminist takes are still present. If you haven’t heard her latest album yet, you will be able to sing along to her other viral hits such as ‘Stupid ft. Yung BabyTate’, which went viral on Tiktok in 2019. She has since come out with other hits such as ‘Daisy’ and ‘Slumber Party’.

Contrair Open Air

Contrair Open Air is a two-day electronic dance party that will make you unable to sit still from 20.07.2024 until 21.07.2024. On Saturday the artists range from Peach & Shanti Celeste who will perform a three-hour house and techno set, to Bored Lord who brings club tracks which are identified by the trace of house, drum & bass, broken beat and much more. DHC, Dominik Humeres Correa will close on Saturday with dreamy drum & bass and progressive beats. On Sunday OLT presents Avalon Emerson, Eris Drew & Octo Octa to end the dance weekend in style. Eris Drew and Octo Octa will celebrate trans love during their three hour long house set. <3 Their energy and chemistry are unmatched on stage as well as off stage.

A Summer Night with Lander & Adriaan + Kassa Overall + Alabaster DePlume

Drummer duo Lander & Adriaan bring Chicago juke, Detroit techno and jazz to their Summer Night on 10.08.2024. The duo released their latest album Millennial Breeze this April. Lander and Adriaan have invited fellow millennials to be a part of the lineup such as Kassa Overall, grammy nominee, singer-producer and drummer who combines hip hop and jazz whilst rapping. The line-up is complete with jazz sax player Gus Fairbairn, stage name, Alabaster DePlume. Alabaster is known for his contrasting sound going from calm to more angry tunes that show his activism. A Summer Night with Lander & Adriaan will close with a live rave.

The album has grown from a place of grief after the singer and guitarist Carrie Brownstein lost her mother and stepdad in a car crash. Music helped her remember that she was still capable of basic motor skills. The album is coloured with gorgeous guitar riffs and pulls you in from the first note. Sleater Kinney created a powerful and touching record that'll make you want to dance. The supporting act is Noa Lee who’ll bring indie music with their debut record Airship. A perfect end to a summer night, Noa Lee will have you dreaming until dawn.

Mdou Moctar

Tuareg songwriter and musician, Mdou Moctar will perform on 26.08.2024. The artist from northern Niger and his band are known for their modern rock music inspired by traditional Touareg melodies. Mdou Moctar’s music first spiked in popularity through a trading network of mobile phones and memory cards in West Africa. He has since secured his place in the international music scene with the album, Afrique Victime in 2021. Shortly after Mdou Moctar finished his latest album, Funeral for Justice, there was a coup in Niger. He and his band were touring the US at the time, which meant they couldn’t go back home. Crowdfunding made it possible for them to stay in the States. Mdou Moctar already sings about inequality and political themes in West Africa but as a result of the coup the next album will be more political than the last. Mdou Moctar’s music differentiates itself with strong guitar riffs and enchanting songs. The supporting act is Sam De Nef & Camille Camille who’ll bring contemporary folk music with their first EP together, called Waving.
