Welcome to Le Botanique, Brussels' vibrant hub for contemporary music and art! Currently on view are De Fil et de Nature, featuring six talented European textile artists who weave enchanting narratives that connect us to the living world, and Hoshi Go Club at Bar Le Viaduc, an exhibition merging art with interactive experiences. We also share a first glimpse at the upcoming shows Futur(s) Parallèles and Mécaniques Discursives, together with Ethel Lilienfeld's solo show.

De Fil et de Nature

until 03.11.2024

Six talented textile artists weave enchanting narratives at the heart of Le Botanique’s greenhouses. Like Penelope in the Odyssey, these young European creators aim to reconnect us with the living world through their intricate work. The exhibition showcases a new generation of women artists dedicated to reviving tapestry and textile art. From KRJST Studio's textured landscapes to Adeline Halot’s metallic forms and Charlotte Payet’s innovative use of plastic threads, each piece immerses us in a magnified vision of nature. Élise Péroi captures the essence of clouds with a large sail, while Elodie Antoine offers a poetic treasure hunt through hidden artworks. This exhibition boldly positions textile arts within the contemporary fine art landscape, celebrating their significance and potential.

Hoshi Go Club

until 16.11.2024 - extra muros: Bar le Viaduc

Hoshi Go Club invites you to explore the intriguing question: Would contemporary art be different if Marcel Duchamp had played Go instead of chess? Transforming Le Viaduc bar in Brussels into an engaging Go club, Marc Buchy celebrates Duchamp as a guiding inspiration. Join us to learn the game from an instructor, enjoy themed events, and sip on a signature cocktail. Experience a vibrant atmosphere that blends art and strategy, culminating in a one-day tournament for players of all levels. Jacquet encourages us to rethink our narratives about what lies ahead through a striking juxtaposition of romantic garden iconography and contemporary elements drawn from pop culture. Exploring this thought-provoking exhibition that challenges perceptions and inspires new possibilities for the future.

Frédéric Penelle’s woodcut prints and Yannick Jacquet’s video art expose the absurdities of our world, bridging the gap between Gutenberg’s era and the age of big data. This exhibition invites visitors to pause the relentless pursuit of innovation. It offers a chance to breathe and reflect, allowing space for imagination to flourish. A unique artistic journey that merges tradition with contemporary commentary. Don’t miss it!
